The Harbingers’ Project, the publisher of Harbingers’ Magazine, is a member of INMA (The International News Media Association) – the world’s leading provider of global best practices and insights for news media companies looking to grow their audience and brand amid profound market change.

As a part of INMA’s global network of over 800 news and media companies across nearly 100 countries, our mission is to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in our publications and foster future generations of journalists.

INMA’s mission is to facilitate discussions between journalists to create networks of communication regarding ‘ideas, expertise, benchmarks, and experiences’, and to bring together the collective knowledge of member journalists. Harbingers’ is proud to join this community and to expand to share its goals and knowledge to the upcoming Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

Beyond its mission, INMA calls for the necessity of sustainable journalism – a free and financially independent press, success, innovation, and continuous learning. Harbingers’ believes in these core values and wishes to uplift other media outlets by building on news coverage and sharing it with today’s youth.

Our magazine represents the definition of innovation as we continue to advocate for and represent youth involvement in the media. Continuous learning is part of what Harbingers’ does as a whole – both in terms of informing our readers with quality information and educating our student journalists, through mentorship by worldwide professional journalists in the field today.

Our mission

The INMA community is defined by trust, volunteerism, international focus, and inclusivity. Harbingers’ works to create a space where all young journalists feel their voices are heard. We have done this through projects such as our Women’s Desk or our recent Pride Month campaign. But, our work is not done, and we continue to work to create a safe space for all journalists to express their ideas and opinions so that all readers can feel understood and heard.

Harbingers’ shares INMA’s mission of being volunteer-led and is already giving back in its stride through various newsrooms across the globe, two of the largest being our Afghanistan and Nepal Newsrooms. Our international focus can be seen and felt throughout our editorial board and our larger collection of journalists, who live in places that range from the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, Poland, and many more. This diverse set of journalists allows us to create an inclusive magazine that tries to encompass the many important issues in journalism today.

It is part of our mission to make all people and especially teens seen and heard, and we are ecstatic to continue our important work as a member of INMA!
