Bal Krishna Sah is a journalist based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He started his journalism career with The Himalayan Times, the country’s leading English-language daily newspaper. He currently writes about science and politics, including diplomacy, human rights and social issues.

Previously, he taught social studies and science for five years at an English boarding school in Kathmandu.

Bal holds a master’s degree in journalism and mass communication from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. In 2024, he received a special mention in the Southeast Asian category of the Global AMR Media Awards.

He is the primary instructor for Harbingers’ Magazine Nepali Newsroom, where ten students from the Mountain Children Home in Dandagaun learn journalism and English.

Bal speaks English, Bajika, Nepali, Maithili, Bhojpuri, Hindi and Awadhi.
